Over the past couple of years I have been looking for a chrome roof rack for the wagon. I saw one on a ’56 Dodge wagon at the 2010 NHRA Hot Rod Reunion at Bakersfield. I then saw one on the only ’56 Dodge wagon to go across the action block at Barrett Jackson last year. So I have been trolling eBay trying to find something that would look decent and would fit the roof line of the Dodge. <\/p>\n

As luck would have it, I found one just after Thanksgiving and was able to win the auction for a reasonable $75 plus shipping. It was speced at 49″ long which seemed to be short for the size of the wagon, but I had decided to see if I could make it fit.<\/p>\n

I was right, it was too short for my more door wagon. It needed to be at least 60″ to 66″ long. To make things a bit worse, the tubing used on the side rails was oval to round rectangular in shape, which was next to impossible to match, so I had no good way to make it longer. <\/p>\n

Oh, well a good friend of mine has a ’57 Ford 2 Dr Ranch Wagon which it should look great on.<\/p>\n

One other thing… saw another rack on offer on eBay. The photo was really poor and there were no dimensions on it so I sent the owner an email asking him what size the thing was.
