Before going any further, I had to sand the epoxy primer with 180 to prep it for the K38 high build. While I was doing that, I found the tailgate hinges which had been epoxied when I was working on the tailgate and lift gate. Unfortunately the steel castings had a number of pin holes and defects that I had to fill with Easy Sand and then finish flat. The good news was that a number of trim pieces looked good after sanding with 180, so I continued with 220 and then 400 wet. All they need now is surfacer followed by PAINT!
Once all the dings pits etc were filled and sanded with 180 grit, I gave all of the reworked parts two wet coats of K38 and let them cure for a day or so.

A few more repairs…

Not only did I find some high spots that I had to tap down and fill with Easy Sand, but then I found this large box that had all of the interior trim pieces that I had epoxied quite a … Continue reading →

[16,23
62,58,37
post-1159","post","type-post","status-publish","format-gallery","hentry","category-1956-dodge-sierra-wagon-build","category-paint-work","tag-filler","tag-primer","tag-sand","post_format-post-format-gallery
["GET
