The new steering column floor mount has a bolt sticking out from it that the pedal lever will touch when the pedal is all the way to the floor, which might not be a bad deal. Hopefully I will not need the very last 3/8″ of pedal travel to stop the wagon. I also installed the brake pedal switch that runs to the computer, but I have read several warnings not to reuse one of these switches. Chrysler wants a new one installed each time the switch is removed for what ever reason. Since I need to go over to the Chrysler dealer to buy a plug for the fuel module – I have no idea where the one from the Durango ended up, I will likely find it the minute I buy a new one 🙁 – anyway, while I am there I will pick up a brake switch as well.

I also bolted up the drive by wire gas pedal from the Durango, and the new head light dimmer switch that I bought from Rock Auto for $5 or so. There was one of those; Can You Identify This Old Thing photos going around Facebook, I replied hell yes, I have three cars that still use them!

Give Me a Brake – sort of…

While on the subject of brakes, I have been trying to round up a list of all the fittings and pieces that I will need to run the brake lines. Just for the record, the front discs and caliphers are from a 1989 Corvette with the heavy duty 13″ brake option. The dropped spindle kit that I bought from McGaughys was for a 1979-81 Camaro, the only year range where the F Body used B Body front suspension components. The Camaro parts were a lot cheaper than the kit for a 1996 Caprice/Roadmaster, but were exactly the same parts. It pays to spends some time with carpart.com, it has an excellent cross reference feature! The rear brakes are 11.75″ GM G Body 1978 and later. Hope to get a parts order into Speedway and Summit Racing this week.

Time to bolt on a few more parts!
