I pulled off on to the shoulder and checked things out. First thing I checked was if the fuel pump was running, it wasn’t. Checked the fuse it was good. Called AAA and after another rather confusing discussion with the person who took the call a rollback was dispatched from Payson to haul us home.

I am really getting a bit pissed off about the quality of auto parts these days. I had purchased a new fuel pump from O’Rielly’s when I had installed the fuel tank. It was another made in China piece, so much for Precision Fuel Pumps … the damn thing lasted all of 7000 miles and 4 months. They be right up there with my wonderful Timken Roller rear axle bearings that made it a whole 4000 miles.

So instead of beginning to freshening up the ’39 I have to drop the damn fuel tank on the ’56 yet one more time. I will probably have to buy a genuine MOPAR pump to get anything decent, which will cost an arm and a leg.

Damn …

or actually didn’t when it should have. 🙁 Headed back from the Goodguys show on Sunday on the Beeline just south of Payson on Rye Creek Hill when Bettie’s engine began sputtering like it was running out of gas.
