Today we headed down the Trans Canada Highway from Kamloops to Lake Louise.\u00a0 Great day for driving, clear blue skies, in the mid 70s with a few clouds and of course some of the best scenery in the world to look at as we cruised along at 100 kph – around 62 mph for the metric challenged.<\/p>\n

I have to say that I am quite impressed with British Columbia and Alberta.\u00a0 Both provinces appear to be very prosperous\u00a0with\u00a0everything looking very clean and well cared for.\u00a0\u00a0I cant say that we have seen much in the way of the poverty or decay \u00a0that you often see around US cities these days.<\/p>\n
The highways are very well designed and in good condition.\u00a0 We did hit some construction along the way but none that caused us much of a delay.\u00a0 It looked to me like they were busting butt to get the work done before the winter snows come.<\/p>\n
The Canadian drivers we shared the road with all seemed to know how to drive, everyone seemed courteous and what I especially liked was that they all stayed to the right except to pass! Novel idea eh?\u00a0 I have also noticed how polite and respectful people are in the motels, restaurants, stores and\u00a0gas stations.\u00a0 Maybe its because they all aren’t piled on top of one another as they are in our large\u00a0cities.\u00a0 I have to say\u00a0I am becoming quite a fan of Canada!<\/p>\n
Oh, I did forget to mention the comment made by the Canadian Customs agent when we entered the country.\u00a0 He asked all the usual custom\u00a0questions including asking\u00a0if we were carrying any\u00a0guns with us, I of course answered no, and then he said with a smile: Are you sure?\u00a0Isn’t it a state law in Arizona that everyone has to own a gun? \u00a0I said no, its not a law, but it is a good idea! I told him that although we did have them, we left them home out of respect for our northern neighbors.\u00a0 He smiled and told us to have a great trip…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
