Well, I don’t know how I lost a\u00a0day along the way, but some how we find ourselves on Day 14 of our travels, instead of Day 13 – perhaps I subconsciously felt that Day 13 might be unlucky?<\/p>\n
No matter we left\u00a0Lake Louise on September 18 and headed down the Trans Canada Hwy passing by Banff again on our way to Calgary AB.\u00a0 Another spectacular drive and yet another beautiful, prosperous, well kept city with great highways, no litter or graffiti.\u00a0 When we stopped for gas we met several more very friendly and helpful Canadians.\u00a0\u00a0As I said\u00a0before, Canada really impresses me, I am going to have to do some research and find out how they, at least in the provinces we have visited in our travels.<\/p>\n
From Calgary we headed south down Canada 2 to the border\u00a0crossing which was painless since we were in a pretty remote area.\u00a0 The customs guy was actually fairly interested in the wagon and asked a few questions about the build, pretty much what a car would\/do ask.<\/p>\n
Once we cleared the border we headed down US 2 to Saint Mary where we had booked a room at the Saint Mary Lodge.\u00a0They had upgraded our room to one on the 2nd floor which had a nice view of the mountains and the river that flows behind the lodge.\u00a0 They didn’t offer WIFI in the\u00a0lodge rooms, only in the lobby and restaurant\u00a0both of which were filled with other tourists and their smart phones and tablets. I decided to take a couple of days off from the internet so I left my stuff in the wagon and Michelle and I\u00a0proceeded to the restaurant for some wine, beer and soup!\u00a0Earlier in the day we\u00a0had a nice lunch so neither of us were very hungry so the\u00a0soup of the day – a\u00a0corn chowder, sounded pretty good.\u00a0 Michelle sampled a local\u00a0Riesling and I had a couple of different local IPAs which were both excellent!<\/p>\n
