Sand Blasting …

This was one of those things that could have gone better. Up in Taylor, there was a business that specialized in media blasting and powder coating aluminum panels for helicopters. Early on, I had talked with the owner and reviewed his operation. The work that he was doing on the helicopter panels was excellent so I decided to give the wagon to him to clean up once I had most of the major fab work done.

When I finally hauled the wagon up to Taylor I found out that with the downturn in the economy in 2008, the helicopter repair business had dried up and they had sold all of the media blasting equipment. The owner looked the wagon over and assured me that he would be able to strip it using sand by going slow and using reduced air pressure. So I left the wagon.
When I returned, I found that the owner had been out of town driving truck and that he had hired another guy to do the sand blasting on the wagon. The guy had some experience, but not up to the level of the owner. Bottom line I now had a major dent in the driver side rear portion of the roof. It was bad enough that it was oil canning.

Nothing much else to do at this point but put the wagon back on the trailer and haul it back to the shop. I would have to deal with the roof later.
