Finished up installing the drive line by bolting in the drive shaft. Once I had the rear u-bolts tightened I noticed that the new yoke that was installed when the 9″ was rebuilt was a bit longer than the one that was used to measure the drive shaft. I used the long jack stands to take the load off of the lift to see how much free play was left on the front yoke. It looks like I have a good 3/4″ left with the drive shaft close to horizontal. I will need to check it with more weight in the wagon, but it looks like it should be okay.
Drive Shaft Installed
While I was working at the rear of the wagon I decided to install the gas tank to see what else would need to be done to get it operational. I used some super glue to to attach some pieces of 1/16″ rubber pads to the inside corners of the mounting straps. After I got the tank in I noticed that I will have to reposition the fuel module and I also need to find the male connector for the fuel module. I am pretty sure I saved it from the Durango, but not sure where I stored it…
Also I think I will use some of the rubber pad material to protect the top of the aluminum tank from the bottom of the floor.
