Day 6 – Relaxing in Eugene
After a leisurely morning of cleaning all the bugs off of Bettie, we picked up Brad and Toni and motored out to the Estate Winery for lunch and a walk about around the estate. The views from the patio where we ate were outstanding. The food was great and the wine was superb. After lunch we walked around the estate where we found a half ton Nissan pickup parked at one of the electric car charging station. The owner of the truck had taken the charging line off it’s holder and hung it over the front grill guard pretending to be charging the truck. I am sure he/she was only taking advantage of a primo parking spot… pretty funny photo though.
Another interesting part of the estate was the small grave yard on a nearby hill top that had commending views of the estate. The grave stones spanned a period of time from the early 1800s until the mid 1990. Quite a neat piece of history.
Once we had walked off lunch we headed back into Eugene where we Brad took us on a tour of all of the local breweries, which were located in the same part of town, which seemed to be a throwback to the 60’s area. We sampled some great local ales, had a wonderful meal at a small local restaurant and collected a few snaps of some of the local color which was vibrant and unique.
Afterwards we drove back to Brad & Toni’s home to visit with Miss Tug, their 16 year old cat who seems to be in total charge of the household, which we both understood.
We had a really great relaxing day with our friends and are already looking forward to our next visit!
