New Project! 1940 Ford Convertible

As luck would have it or not, somewhat by accident I found a 1940 Ford Convertible project car on eBay. From the photos and the discription of the car it looked like all of the initial body work had been handled. The panels had been stripped and rust spots had been repaired with patch panels that had been properly welded in. The floors were in good shape, all of the top bows were there, all the window trim was there as was all the glass. The fit and finish of the hood and doors seemed to be as good as you can expect a fat fender Ford to be, perhaps even better. The dash was all there, though it was one from a Standard version, which is okay with me.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get it from near Ottawa Ontario to Show Low. From the quotes I have been getting from shippers it looks like Michelle and I will be going on a road trip sometime in late March or early April.

  1. Hey Conrad, that’s pretty cool. I’m happy for you, that appears to be a nice sound convert. I’ll be looking forward to see wht you do with it.

    • Thanks Tom, I have some time to think about what I want to do while I am finishing up the wagon. I was planning on freshing up my sedan as soon as I completed the wagon, but I think I will move the ’40 ahead of it. I think it will be a whole lot less work than the Dodge has been 🙂
