I had come to the conclusion during all the sanding and body prep that the old wagon was around the size of the John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier. Michelle and I had become acquainted with the Kennedy during the 90’s when we would travel to San Deigo to go SCUBA diving on the Bottom Scratcher dive boat. Most of our trips were to San Clemente Is. and we would often see the Kennedy launching and recovering Tom Cats out in the channel, so I became quite aware of the size of the Kennedy and believe me by the time I was done sanding on the damn thing I would swear that it had grown to the size of the Kennedy!
Gift Wrapping the Wagon!
Today we had a grand time gift wrapping the Kennedy so that I can seal the interior and paint all the jambs and window openings tomorrow. With the two of us taping it only took from 10 AM to 4 PM to mask off the exterior. I have a bit of clean up to do in the morning and will have to change out a couple of filters in the spray booth before I start Jambin’! We be Jambin’ Mon!
Oh, with the green and brown masking paper on, the Dodge is looking a lot like the Family Truckster from National Lampoon’s Vacation, now if only Ms Brinkley would show up in a Ferrari…
