Day 2 – The Tenth and Last Route 66 Days Car Show

We were all quite unhappy to hear that this was to be the last show in Flagstaff after ten great years. The OTHG-Phoenix has been a staunch supporter of the show and Michelle and I have enjoyed attending them all. I really love the shows that have you park on the streets of an old town area that has been brought back to life. It will be missed!

The club members who braved the chance of rain this year were Ken Schaaf & Dee Guintoli, Page & Linda Barnes, Bob & Betty Bailey, Dave Bennett, Dave Bertram, Larry & Teresa Ways, Rick & Debbie Aronson, Charlie & Danise Cover, Chuck & Diane LaVetter, Skip & Nina McFarlin, Barney & Donna Wilkens, Paul & Judy Nolte and soon to be new members Tony & Jeanine Cruz. Also parking with us were our good friends Manfred & Connie Wagner, Rick & Kim Fernau and Donny & Hadey New.

There were as always a nice selection of cars at the show including several that I had not seen before, which is always nice!

Picking up awards this year were Dave Bertram, Dave Bennett, Page Barnes, Rick Aronson and Bob Bailey. Good friend and former memeber Manfred Wagner was once again (6 for 7) in the money paying top six award winners. Manfred held true to form and donated his winnings to help the homeless in Flagstaff. I am proud to have him as a friend of mine!

Another great show, to bad it is the last. 🙁
