Day 11 – Lake Louise – Finally!

After 5 years we are finally on the trails around Lake Louise.  What a magnificent place to visit.  We started the day by hiking the Fairview trail which was only about 1.5 km long but most of it was up a 20 to 30° and since the elevation is over 5000 ft, it was a good challenge for Michelle and I.  Glad to say we did fine and made it all the way to the lake overlook which graced us with some wonderful views of the Fairmount at the end of the lake.

After taking a few photos, we headed back down the hill to have a bite of lunch at the Fairview.  Pretty spendy, but worth it just to say we did eat there!

After lunch we walked  along the shore talking with a whole bunch of other tourists wandering along the same path.  It was a great relaxing afternoon.  The weather was spectacular with clear skies and temps running in the mid to high 70s. I guess we hit it just right since it was snowing here last week!

Tomorrow we visit Moraine Lake again and will take a trip into Banff for a walk about.
