Back from Powder Coating

On April  4th Michelle and I made a quick trip down to the valley to pick up the frame and other parts that I had taken to Arizona Powder Coating a few weeks ago.  I was told that the parts would be done in 12 to 14 working days and on the 12th day we got a call informing us that we could pick them up.  When we got there I checked everything over and it all looked great. The small parts were all warped to insure that they would not be damaged.  The actual cost of the job was 10% less than what they had quoted and the offered a further discount for cash.

All in all a great business to deal with.

Powder Coating Completed

On the same day that APC had called, Toby from Performance 4×4 called to tell me that the differential was done as well. Toby had installed a limited slip for me into the Currie differential.  Based upon my experience with lack of traction with the 4000# wagon with only 350 HP, I figured that this under 3000# convertible with upwards of 500 HP would be in a “all skate” condition most of the time.

I had hoped to get started putting everything back together starting on the 5th, but as the bard once said;

“The best-laid schemes o’ mice an ‘men
Gang aft agley”

A couple of weeks prior to all of this, my daughter and son in law paid us a visit and told us that Brandon was being transferred to Phoenix by ADOT. This transfer means a much greater job opportunity for Brandon and we were in total support of the move. They had been living in our second home which we bought before I retired from Motorola in Austin. Prior to them staying in the house, Michelle’s sister lived there. So after 14 yrs we ran out of family to stay in the house. We listed it with a broker who wanted the interior repainted etc etc… so for the next 11 days we thrashed on getting it ready to show.  So hopefully next Monday I can get back at it.
